Job Description:/h3:
The Professional Services Division (MEP) of Veteran Design and Construction, Inc. (VDCI) is seeking a results driven, enthusiastic Electrical Engineer to join its Baltimore, Maryland office. The Engineer is responsible for the preparation of construction documents and specifications for Federal, Commercial, and Large Residential facilities. The engineer will work in conjunction with mechanical and plumbing engineers on several HVAC projects simultaneously.

VDCI provides both professional and construction contracting services to its clients.
Essential Functions:
Supervises technical work of designers.
Completes details and advanced calculations.
Conducts system analysis and comparisons with regard to economical and functional considerations.
Designs power, lighting, and telecommunications systems for buildings.
Designs site lighting and power distribution.
Assigns tasks to designers and/or CAD Specialists.
Reviews all work completed by designers and/or CAD Specialists.
Writes specifications and ensures coordination of their preparation with other disciplines.
Represents the company with clients at design meetings as assigned.
Contacts utility authorities for confirmation of availability, coordination of service entry points, and confirming facilities required for obtaining service from the utility.
Consults with local regulatory agencies for conformance of design standards.
Coordinates project design and schedules with Project Managers.
Reviews construction shop drawings, addresses field problem, and prepares field reports.
Is actively involved in professional and trade associations and societies.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors degree in electrical engineering from an accredited four:year college or university and/or sufficient experience to qualify for testing for a Professional Engineers license.
Experience with Lighting, Power, Communications, Fire Alarm and Security Systems design.
Experience with design of commercial and large residential HVAC projects.
EIT or PE certification.
LEED certification preferred.
Valid drivers license.
