Managing Consultants demonstrate a thorough understanding of all technical and management aspects of client service. Managing Consultants are capable of planning, budgeting, executing and delivering discreet complex technical segments of large projects or all aspects of small or medium sized client assignments. This includes the delegation and monitoring of tasks performed by other team members and critically auditing all work performed under their supervision. Managing Consultants frequently assist in developing solutions, creating large portions of client deliverables under supervision, and are expected to provide meaningful intellectual contributions to the engagement. They may be a regular point of contact for the client on an engagement. Managing Consultants have developed a thorough understanding of the standards and procedures that are required in delivering client work product in their primary areas of expertise, and have a deep knowledge of their discipline. Managing Consultants are also responsible for actively participating in the career development of Associates, Senior Associates, and Consultants on their engagement teams or office. Managing Consultants continue to expand firm:building activities by assuming managerial roles in the office for such functions as recruiting, training, or staff coordination. They also begin to participate in developing project proposals.Utilize methodology to train hospital staff that have been identified as strong candidates for the CDI program. Methodology uses both didactic and hands on approach to learning.Perform medical staff education regarding the guidelines of documentation and requirements as related to classification system for coding, DRG assignment, condition and treatments.Knowledge of system and process evaluation of health system, hospital, and group practice settings that aligns clinical documentation improvement practice and process within the framework of patient:centered care.Time management skills to be able to handle potentially more than one engagement at a time.Analytical skill strong enough to support junior staff.Resource management skills (related to BRG/client resources).Clinical skills: Thorough and holistic understanding of patient and disease process management through the continuum of care.Extensive knowledge of Clinical Documentation Improvement guidelines and Medicare documentation regulations.Resource management (reduction of practice variations and costs per case).Ability to financially quantify clinical documentation improvement opportunities for performance improvement.Clinical insight and understanding of at least one major software support system available for clinical documentation improvement services (i.e. 3M, JATA).BachelorA?s degree in Nursing required, MasterA?s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred, Clinical Documentation Improvement Certification preferred.
